Style Sheets are collections of Style Information that are applied to plain text.  Style information includes font attributes such as type size, special effects (bold, italic, underline), color and alignment such as line spacing, left and right margins.

Advantages of Cascading Style Sheets

1 It separates content and presentation.

2 Web page designers will have their full precise control over the appearance of content on Screen.

3 It acts as a control repositories of style information.

Reason:

Style information can be stored in one file and this can be applied to more than one pages.  If any change is to made in the style, the style information file above can be changes.

4 No new HTML Tags should be needed for the purpose of formatting which greatly avoids confusion.

5 The content will look the same on every browser.

What is Cascading?

Cascading Style Sheet proposal is for implementing style sheets. Cascading refers to a certain rules that browser use, to determine how to use the style information.

Approached to Style Sheets

The CSS2 recommendation supports three ways of including style information in a document.  These approaches include:

1 Linked Styles

2 Embedded Styles

3 Inline Styles

Acceptable English Language Colors in CSS are as follows:

Aqua, Black, Blue, Fuchsia, Gray, Green, Lime, Maroon, Navy, Olive, Purple, Red, Silver, Teal, White, Yellow.
